Holy Week Mass Schedule

PALM SUNDAY – 10am Mass

Jesus enters the City of Jerusalem on a donkey. A big crowd welcomes him. They shout ‘Hosanna’, wave palm branches and lay them, along with their cloaks, on the ground for him.At our 10am Mass Fr Joe will bless palms as we together begin our journey into Holy Week.This year, why not take a branch from your garden/park and join Fr Joe on the webcam as he blesses the palms and as we read The Passion from St Matthew’s Gospel. 

HOLY THURSDAY – 7.30pm mass

Washing of the feel, Holy ThursdayThe Last Supper. Jesus and the Apostles gather together in the Upper Room for a special meal, The Last Supper.We remember the words Jesus said at that meal; ‘Do This in Memory of Me’.We recall that Jesus washed the feet of the 12 Apostles. Perhaps place a jug and bowl of water on a table nearby as you too join the Mass of the Last Supper at 7.30pm Mass.

GOOD FRIDAY – 3.00pm Mass

Celebration of the Lord’s Passion. We enter into the Passion through the account from St John’s Gospel and we recall the Way of the Cross. Christ Crucified, Good Friday‘Hosanna’…replaced by ‘Crucify Him’… and then finally, “It is accomplished’.In our homes we can venerate the Cross and remember again the love Christ showed for us when he stretched out his arms on that Cross.Join us for the ceremonies at 3.00pm Mass.

EASTER VIGIL – RTÉ 10pm

The Vigil Mass is being broadcast on both RTÉ Two & RTÉ Radio 1 at 10pm by the Bishop of Meath, Tom Deenihan. He celebrates the resurrection of Christ, with a Vigil Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King.

EASTER SUNDAY – 10am Mass

Early in the morning some women go to the tomb. Easter Sunday, Alleluia Christ has risenJesus has risen from the dead. Alleluia! Alleluia!Perhaps prepare an Easter table with Spring flowers, Easter eggs, maybe your baptismal or another candle, and join with Fr Joe as he lights the Paschal Candle.Celebrate with JOY via webcam at our Easter Sunday 10:00am Mass.
